TE0818, Vitis 2024.2 Classic and Unified Extensible Platforms

Description

In Chip JU project SOIL, in WP3, UTIA develops SIMD HW IP for acceleration of adaptive RLS Lattice filter with recursively estimated 1024 coefficients. It will be used in WP5 UTIA demonstrator for the adaptive acoustic noise cancellation.

This application note describes use of evaluaton package released by UTIA 19.6.2026.

This application note covers:

  • Application design flow performed in Vitis 2024.2 Unified.
  • Application design flow in Vitis 2024.2 Classic.
  • Migration from Vitis Classic workspace to Vitis Unified workspace.
  • Export of Vitis Unified workspace and import to another Vitis Unified workspace.

AMD move to the Vitis Unified workspace is big challenge to the developers. Vitis 2024.2 is the last AMD tool chain flow supporting both, the Vitis Classic and Vitis Unified workspace.

The latest Vitis 2025.1 and Vitis 2025.2 toolchains will support only the Vitis Unified workspace.

That is why it is important for the long-term time-extended support to provide application note describing in detail to the developers how to move from the Vitis Classic and Vitis Unified workspace design flow for the family of TE0818-15EG module. This is the main objective of this application note and evaluation package. The Vitis Unified workspace design flow ver. 2024.2 described in this app. note will be used by UTIA for evaluation of performance of several paralell running HW accelerated adaptive RLS Lattice filters. This will be described in the follow-up application note and evaluation package.
